I'd always been a big guy with a rugby playing weight at 110kg with 17% body fat. Unfortunately with hanging up the rugby boots the muscle came off and the fat came on. I decided about 4 months after getting to 130kg that I need to do something about my health. I went and talked to Mission Nutrition, wanting advice and basically a miracle cure. The first thing she asked me to do was keep a food diary for 4 days and get back to her. I did as she asked and ate like I'd have normally ate - What an eye opener!
Mission Nutrition helped me develop my current good eating habits and together with plenty of exercise I'm now down to 111kg. Its my goal to get to 96kg which should be about 10% body fat. The funny thing is is that I don't see this as a diet and it hasn't been any major sacrifice. It's just a case of rewiring my brain to enjoy whole foods again. I still have a couple of scheduled cheat meals each week, but try not to go overboard. By half iron man time in December I plan to reach my goal.
