Can I claim my appointment on health insurance?

Depending on your health insurance provider and policy, you may be able to claim back some or all of the cost of seeing a NZ Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist. Some policies require a referral from a specialist, while others do not - please confirm the details of your policy with your provider.

Can I claim my Mission Nutrition appointment through Southern Cross?

Some Southern Cross health insurance policies cover consultations with a NZ Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist. The amount you can claim and any referral requirements will depend on your individual policy.

Southern Cross Easy-Claim is not currently available for Dietitian or Nutritionist appointments. However, we're happy to provide a receipt so you can submit a claim directly to Southern Cross.

How to claim for your nutrition consultation

1. Check your policy

   Contact your insurer to confirm whether you're covered for appointments with a NZ Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist and any referral requirements.

2. Book your appointment

   Choose the Mission Nutrition practitioner who's right for you. Your policy will specify if cover is for a NZ Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist (or both), please consider this when matching with the right person in our team.

3. Pay for your consultation

   Pay for your appointment directly with Mission Nutrition - payment details are be provided in your booking confirmation email.

4. Request your receipt

   We can provide an invoice or receipt to submit your claim.

5. Submit your claim

   Send your receipt and any other required documentation to your health insurance provider.
