Claire Turnbull - Mission Nutrition Founder and Wellbeing Expert

Hi, I’m Claire

I trained as a Dietitian in the UK and work in New Zealand as a Registered Nutritionist. I am an author, speaker and wellbeing educator with over 20 years’ experience helping people improve their health and feel better in their bodies and minds.

I founded Mission Nutrition to bring together a carefully selected team of highly qualified Dietitians and Nutritionists from across Aotearoa who share my values and passion for practical, personalised support.

We’re here to help you feel your best - every day - with advice that actually fits your life.

How it all began

I grew up in the UK in a family of health professionals - my dad a doctor, my mum a nurse, and one of my brothers a pharmacist and anaesthetist. I started working in hospitals at 15 and have been in the world of health ever since.

After completing my degree in Dietetics in 2004 and also training as a fitness instructor, I moved to New Zealand to work with Diabetes NZ and Healthy Food Guide magazine. I’m now a NZ Registered Nutritionist with a Diploma in Positive Psychology and do lots of work in the media as well as keynote speaking at conferences and writing books, including my latest best seller, End Your Fight with Food.

I set up Mission Nutrition in 2005 to offer practical, science-backed tools and advice that truly supports individuals and workplaces to thrive.

Outside of work, I’m a mum of two, co-lead a local scout group, love being outdoors, and enjoy being creative in the kitchen - often with music playing and a bit of a mess!
